Let this continue to brown and cook until all the liquid is gone and meat starts to color.<\/li><li>Use a slotted spoon to remove the meat from the pot, leaving any oil and fat.<\/li><li>Add chopped onions to same pan. Let cook for 5-6 minutes until translucent.<\/li><li>Add chili, cumin and salt. Cook 1-2 minutes more until spices are fragrant.<\/li><li>Add tomato paste and cook for 1 more minute.<\/li><li>Add broth, canned tomatoes and bring to simmer.<\/li><li>Add peeled and diced sweet potatoes.<\/li><li>Let cook until potatoes are very soft. About 10 minutes<\/li><li>Use an immersion blender to blend until desired consistency. (You could also transfer \u00bd to a blender, blend and then add back in.)<\/li><li>Add meat back in and taste for seasoning, adding more salt or spice as needed.<\/li><li>Serve with sliced avocado on top and side salad and or vegetables.<\/li><\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Heat a large stockpot over medium-high heat.
