Reduce or eliminate caffeine.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The ups and downs of caffeine include dehydration and blood sugar ups and downs, making\u00a0mood swings more frequent.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Drink water.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Most Americans are chronically dehydrated. Before you go to sugar or caffeine, have a\u00a0glass of water and wait a few minutes to see what happens.\u00a0Caution: Soft drinks are now America\u2019s number one source of added sugar.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Eat dark leafy green vegetables.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Green is associated with spring, the time of renewal and refreshing, vital energy.\u00a0Greens are full of vitamins and nutrients and great for improving circulation, lifting the spirit,\u00a0purifying the blood and strengthening the immune system.\u00a0Broccoli, collards, bok choy, kale, mustard greens, broccoli rabe, arugula and dandelion\u00a0greens are some of the many to choose from.<\/p>\n<p><strong>4. Use gentle sweets.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Avoid sugar and chemicalized artificial sweeteners.\u00a0Use gentle sweeteners like maple syrup, brown rice syrup, agave nectar and stevia.\u00a0Also eat sweet vegetables such as yams, carrots and beets.<\/p>\n<p><strong>5. Get physical activity.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Start with simple activities, like walking or yoga\u2014start with 10 minutes a day and increase.<\/p>\n<p><strong>6. Get more sleep and rest and relaxation.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When you are tired or stressed, your body will crave energy.\u00a0These cravings are often a result of being sleep-deprived, going to bed late, waking up\u00a0early, for months and years on end.<\/p>\n<p><strong>7. Evaluate the amount of animal food you eat.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Eating too much meat, dairy, chicken and eggs can lead to low energy. So can eating too little! Experiment. Respect your body\u2019s individuality.<\/p>\n<p><strong>8. Take time for yourself.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Find activities that restore your energy, such as a walk, a bath, a museum, a movie or whatever you enjoy, and schedule a weekly date with yourself to do these things!<\/p>\n<p><strong>9. Get in touch with your spirituality.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We are spiritual beings in a physical world.Find ways to get in touch with your spiritual side, be it meditating, dancing, drawing, going to\u00a0church or temple or being in nature.<\/p>\n<p><strong>10. Get rid of relationships that drain you.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>People can drain you of your energy.
