Gut Health Nutritionist in San Francisco, CA

Understand your digestive symptoms, reduce food fear, and find a more comfortable, confident way to eat.

Functional Nutritionist for Gut Health in the Bay Area

Receive personalized support for bloating, IBS symptoms, reflux, constipation, and food sensitivities.

Digestive symptoms can affect far more than your stomach. They can shape what you wear, where you go, how you sleep, what you eat, and how comfortable you feel in your own body.

If you are constantly bloated, reacting to more foods, struggling with constipation or diarrhea, or planning your life around your digestion, generic advice may not be enough. Your symptoms deserve to be understood in the context of your history, habits, stress, nutrition, and overall health.

I help clients in San Francisco and online identify patterns that may be contributing to digestive discomfort and build a practical plan to support better digestion, greater food confidence, and a less symptom-centered life.

A Thoughtful Approach to Gut Health

There is no single “gut-healing” protocol that is right for everyone. Digestive symptoms can have different contributing factors, and the same diagnosis can look very different from one person to another.

We may explore eating patterns, meal timing, food variety, fiber, hydration, chewing, bowel habits, stress, sleep, movement, food reactions, and information from your healthcare team. Functional testing or supplements may be discussed when appropriate, but testing should answer a useful question—not become an expensive substitute for a clear strategy.

My goal is not to remove more and more foods indefinitely. When a targeted elimination is appropriate, it should be used thoughtfully, monitored carefully, and followed by a plan to expand variety when possible. Food freedom and adequate nourishment matter too.

Gut Health Conditions I Support

San Francisco IBS Nutrition Coaching and Plans

Irritable Bowel Syndrome can look very different from person to person, which is why I don’t use a standard IBS protocol.

Together, we look at the patterns behind your symptoms — digestion, nervous system regulation, motility, food triggers, microbial balance, stress, and more — and use those clues to guide a personalized nutrition and healing strategy.

San Francisco SIBO Nutrition Coaching and Plans

SIBO is often part of a bigger picture, not the whole story.

Rather than applying a generic SIBO protocol, I help you address the factors contributing to symptoms and recurrence — from motility and digestion to stress, food reactions, microbial imbalances, and underlying root causes — while creating a practical plan tailored to your body.

San Francisco Bloating Focussed Nutrition Plan

Bloating is a symptom, not a diagnosis.

I help you investigate what may be driving it — whether it’s digestive dysfunction, food reactions, microbial imbalance, slowed motility, or something often overlooked — and create a personalized strategy to help you feel lighter and more comfortable.

Food Sensitivities / Intolerance

Food reactions are often a clue, not the whole problem.

Rather than simply removing more foods, I help you understand what may be contributing to those reactions and make thoughtful nutrition and lifestyle recommendations to calm symptoms while supporting resilience.

Leaky Gut

Intestinal permeability rarely exists in isolation.

My approach focuses on understanding what may be driving inflammation or gut barrier dysfunction and creating a tailored plan to support repair, reduce triggers, and improve whole-body health.

Personalized Gut Healing Plans

There is no single protocol I apply to every client because there is no single root cause behind digestive symptoms.

I help you connect the dots across symptoms, history, labs when appropriate, diet, stress, lifestyle, and physiology to develop individualized recommendations that evolve as your body responds.

This may include strategic dietary changes, therapeutic nutrition support, nervous system support, lifestyle shifts, functional testing when appropriate, and targeted supplement guidance — always tailored to your needs, not a template.

Elimination Diet Guidance

An elimination diet can be a useful tool, but it’s only one tool.

When appropriate, I guide you through it thoughtfully — not as a rigid protocol, but as part of a bigger strategy to gather clues, reduce symptoms, and expand your diet again with confidence.

What Working Together Looks Like

Tell me the full digestive story

We start with a free discovery call, followed by a deeper review of your symptoms, timeline, health history, food patterns, previous testing, treatments, and what you have already tried.

Identify patterns and priorities

We look for connections among meals, symptoms, bowel habits, stress, sleep, energy, and lifestyle. When appropriate, we consider information from your medical team.

Build a practical digestive-health plan

Your recommendations may include food and meal adjustments, symptom tracking, digestive-support habits, stress or nervous-system practices, and targeted guidance within scope.

Evaluate and expand

We monitor your response and refine the plan. The goal is not simply fewer symptoms on a narrow diet; it is greater comfort, confidence, resilience, and flexibility over time.

Start tracking bloating, digestion, and food reactions.

If you’re dealing with bloating, IBS symptoms, or unpredictable digestion, tracking can help reveal what your body is reacting to. Download the free Food & Symptom Journal and start spotting patterns in just 5 minutes a day.

Science-Informed Guidance You Can Actually Use

I combine advanced training in functional medicine with nationally board-certified health coaching to bridge the gap between knowing what may support your health and making those changes work in everyday life.

Understand the Why

Together we will explore how nutrition, digestion, stress, sleep, and daily habits may be influencing how you feel, without reducing your experience to a generic protocol.

Turn Recommendations Into Action

A doctor or naturopath may help identify what needs attention and provide recommendations. Knowing what to do is only the beginning. I support what happens next: translating nutrition goals into meals and daily routines, troubleshooting real-life obstacles, and adjusting the plan so it remains realistic.

Personalized to Your Life

Your plan is shaped around your symptoms, history, preferences, schedule, and goals, not pulled from a standardized template.

Support That Evolves With You

Together, we’ll work through real-life barriers, adjust strategies as needed, and build sustainable routines that support lasting progress.

Gut Health Nutritionist FAQ

Clients commonly seek support for bloating, constipation, diarrhea, reflux, food sensitivities, IBS-like symptoms, and unpredictable digestion. Coaching does not diagnose the cause of symptoms, but it can help you identify patterns and apply nutrition and lifestyle strategies alongside appropriate medical care.

Not necessarily. Testing may be useful in some situations, but it should answer a meaningful question and influence the plan. Many foundational nutrition, meal, stress, sleep, and digestive habits can be evaluated before advanced testing is considered.

Not everyone needs one. If a temporary elimination is appropriate, it should have a specific purpose, clear boundaries, and a plan for reintroduction when possible. Long-term unnecessary restriction can make eating more stressful and reduce dietary variety.

Yes, when collaboration is useful and appropriate. Medical providers diagnose and manage disease; coaching can help you implement day-to-day nutrition and lifestyle changes that complement your treatment plan.

It depends on your history, symptoms, contributing factors, and response. Some people notice early changes, while more complex or longstanding concerns take longer. We focus on both symptom improvement and greater flexibility and confidence over time.
